Captain Awareness

It is generally agreed that Green Lantern was the first comic book to tackle real life issues. Published in 1971, the two-part storyline dealt with drug addiction. 

 Now, years later, an independent comic is dealing with sexual assault on college campuses. In the story, Captain Awareness: Assault on Campus, anyone can take on the super powered role of Captain Awareness, as the character really represents humanity’s capacity for good.
