Jenny Whiteboard
Friday, August 13, 2010 at 10:42AM Several days ago, The Chive posted images of a young woman named “Jenny” who’d just quit her job. The unique thing about her quitting? She wrote her thoughts down on a white board and posed with said board in a series of pictures. She then sent the series of pictures via email to her entire office. Through her white board, she related her experience with an overbearing boss who sexually harassed her.

What you may not know is that this whole scenario was a clever hoax dreamt up by The Chive. “Jenny” is actually an actress named Elyse Porterfield. Even though this particular story is fictional, couldn’t it easily have been based on real life events? Isn’t it still an important story to tell?
Talkback: Even though the story of “Jenny” was a hoax, was it still important for people to see?
